| Diagnosis of Asperger syndrome is according to whether a set of behavioral characteristics are present. These criteria vary somewhat according to which references are used; currently these are (primarily) the DSM-IV, ICD-10, and criteria developed by Gillberg and Gillberg and by Szatmari.
